Mostotrest to build new bridge across Volga in Dubna
Mostotrest won the bid for the construction of a bridge across the Volga River, aligned on Vernov Street in Dubna, Moscow region. The project customer is the Road Construction Directorate State Public Enterprise for the Moscow Region. Contract value: RUB8.75 billion (including VAT); execution period: 25 months.
Mostotrest has been awarded the contract based on the results of a competitive bidding process. The tendering commission assessed not only the proposed discounts to the original project cost, but also the bidders' skills and qualifications, as well as their track record of successful execution of comparable projects.
As part of the project, Mostotrest will build a four-lane (two lanes in each direction) bridge crossing with a total length of 1,940 meters and the net bridge length of 485 meters. The new bridge will connect Bogolyubov Avenue and Vernov Street on the right bank of the Volga, with the exit for the Raduga Fitness Center located in the area of the Russian Programming Center on the left bank. The capacity of the bridge will be 4,420 vehicles per hour; design speed: 80 km/h.
Dubna is the only town near Moscow, located on the Volga River. The river divides the city into two halves, which are connected by only one road that runs along the Ivankovo Hydroelectric Facility. Located at a distance of almost 50 km, the nearest existing bypass via the bridge in the town of Kimry, Tver region, is unable to accommodate today's transport flow (800 vehicles per hour).
The bridge over the Volga River in Dubna, Moscow region, will create a sustainable transport link between the two equal parts of the town divided by the river, and will contribute to the development of the Dubna Special Economic Zone.
